Summary: Ash catches a Caterpie! And is very annoying about it. But hey, I’m not going to yuck any yums, this man has a caterpillar! Misty has a very strong prejudice against bug Pokémon while they love her. Ash shows his true colors, this man loves Pokémon. Caterpie dreams of bigger things, will the moon give them what they need? Or is it symbolic? Caterpie is having some real sad-boy hours, why don’t we throw it in battle with an evolved Pokémon with a type advantage? Ashy boy has lots to learn. Pidgeotto is a boss, and criminally underrated. Ash catches a Pidgeotto, and is even more annoying about it. We have a Metapod folks, and they are backpack-sized!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, he caught his first and second Pokémon. He also got Caterpie to evolve in the span of one episode, he is riding high.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Misty, she was bugging me this episode (thank you, thank you, I’m here all week!)
One thing I learned: Misty is determined to hold this bike issue over Ash’s head, and rightfully so.
Pikachu-o-meter: 5/5, great sass in this episode and he is Caterpie’s wingman
