Summary: The gang is on the way to Vermillion City, and they stumble across an Oddish, and a protective Bulbasaur. Ash, Misty, and Pikachu almost fall into some rapids, Misty falls in a pithole, eventually getting caught in a booby trap. Bulbasaur seems to be the mastermind of this trickery, and Team Rocket may know what is actually going on. It’s story-time, and Ash has his thoughts on some pirate booty. Brock cuts them down, tells his own story of a beautiful girl saving him. It’s time for a spa day! Bulbasaur still holds a grudge, and he isn’t about to let Ash and Misty mess up Oddish’s business. This Pokémon is a body-guard, what a gangster. Bulbasaur is moon-lighting as a bouncer, Ash needs to leave! Luckily for Ash, the bad guys come to town, and he isn’t looking so bad now. Bulbasaur saves the day, and Ash saves Bulbasaur. Pidgeotto sends Team Rocket flying, criminally underrated Pokémon. I guess Ash deserves a chance to catch Bulbasaur now. Pikachu battles Bulbasaur, and Ash gets a new friend! Brock wants to stay in the village, but the gang finally says goodbye to Melanie!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Bulbasaur, they dominate all episode, what an intro for Bulbasaur.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Oddish, Starmie knocked them out, poor thing.
One thing I learned: Jessie and James own a flying stadium, that’s cool.
Pikachu-o-meter: 5/5, the decisive battle to catch Bulbasaur is won thanks to Pikachu, enough said.
