Airdate: September 9th, 1997
Summary: Haunter joins the gang, freaks Misty and Brock out, but Ash convinces Haunter to battle Sabrina. Its round 2, and Ash is ready to go. His friends are a bit skeptical, but they support Ash. Ash throws out Haunter against Kadabra, but none of his Pokémon will go and fight. Ash tries to bail, but Sabrina is not going to let them leave, she is psychotic. The jogger saves our friends again, but Misty and Brock get turned into dolls in Sabrina’s play house. The jogger tells Ash the story of Sabrina, the jogger thinks Ash figured out he is Sabrina’s father, but Ash mistakes him for Sabrina’s childhood… photographer. This dude really is 10. Meanwhile, Haunter is scaring Team Rocket, who almost fall to their death, but hey at least Ash finds our favorite ghost. The dolls can talk, and Sabrina’s mom is suffering some serious Stockholm Syndrome. Haunter skips out on another battle, and Sabrina is trying to add Ash to her collection. Pikachu steps up, faces Kadabra, and promptly gets wrecked. Haunter makes Sabrina laugh, breaking her seemingly decades long emotional comatose. Ash still can’t figure out this jogger is Sabrina’s father, but he does give Ash his 4h badge, as Kadabra is unable to battle.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Haunter, he changes Sabrina, and moves her out of her childhood comatose.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Pikachu, he tries, gets an A for effort, but Kadabra never really lost the match.
One thing I learned: Having psychic powers isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Pikachu-o-meter: 5/5, Pikachu is a real pal.
