Airdate: September 30th, 1997
Summary: Arnold is missing! He has been gone for three days, and many children his age are missing as well. Ash and the gang take up the case, and assist Officer Jenny with her interrogations. Brock is a bit overzealous, and Nurse Joy is having her own problems with Pokémon at the center. A Psyduck has been in the worst shape of them all. These Pokémon started to act weird 3 days ago…..hmmmm. Officer Jenny’s sleep wave detector is picking up a feed. Team Rocket hears of this technology and wants to turn it on their boss, ambitious. Jenny picks up a strong reading from the roof of a tall building, they bust into an eyes-wide-shut party of the social elite, who are being guided by a Hypno (this rich people get freaky). Hypno has a Drowzee buddy, and the Pokémon lovers club have decided to use natural medicine, Pokémon sleep waves, to remedy their insomnia. Hypno starts showing of its hypnosis prowess, which leads Misty to the park where the missing kids are. After this, Misty gets snapped out of her hypnosis. Ash and Jenny try and take Drowzee to the park to snap all of the children and Pokémon out of their hypnosis, but Team Rocket strikes again. Jessie challenges Hypno to a hypnosis challenge, which Hypno accepts, and almost loses. Staryu saves the day, HYUUUUUUUUU. Drowzee helps the kids and Pokémon go back to normal, including a clingy Psyduck who joins Misty’s team.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Staryu, HYUUUUUUU.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Hypno, come on man, stop working for the upper-class and falling for Team Rocket’s tricks.
One thing I learned: Pokémon and humans can pick up the same sleep waves.
