Airdate: October 7th, 1997
Summary: Brock takes the gang to Scissor Street, they notice Salon Rocket (ro-kay), styling the latest in Pokémon fashions. Jessie and James are making big bucks. Brock spots a beautiful Pokémon breeder, Susie, and her Vulpix. Misty gets grabby and Vulpix toasts her. Brock has seen his idol, and wants to be her pupil. It turns out, Susie is the #1 Pokémon breeder, what a stud. Susie has a problem with the new salon, and Ash dunks on Misty until she promises to make Psyduck beautiful. Susie runs a little Pokémon Breeder day camp/lecture, and Ash rubs Pikachu’s cheeks out. Salon Rocket runs out of customers, so Misty is all alone in the shop. Team Rocket gives Misty a makeover, and Meowth spoils their cover. They hold Misty hostage, and Psyduck grabs Ash and Brock to come rescue her. Jessie and James sing a super-sized Super Bowl Halftime-level motto. Ash and Brock attack Ekans and Koffing, who seem to be having a bit of success, but they have a fashion disaster and lose to Vulpix and blast off. Susie won’t let Brock be her apprentice, but she wants Brock to take care of her Vulpix, and he does.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Susie, what a perfect human.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, he blew Jessie and James cover.
One thing I learned: Meowth’s big mouth can get him into trouble.
Pikachu-o-meter: 4/5, good translation work.
