Airdate: November 25th, 1997
Summary: Ash and company are still in the Safari Zone. They break out in song, but quickly get some cold steel in their face from Kaiza, the caretaker. He gives our crew some Safari balls, and they spot a picture of a Dratini and him from thirty years ago. The gang simply bring up the fact that this photo exists, and Kaiza again threatens them with a gun. The gang call Professor Oak to get to the bottom of the mystery, Professor Oak spills the tea. Team Rocket hears of this, and plans to capture all the Safari Zone Pokémon. They do their motto, and again Kaiza does not know how to communicate, and just starts shooting. The gang and the Rocketto-dan enter into a friendly contest, whoever catches the most Pokemon gets the other’s Pokémon. Ash and Brock catch a gaggle of Tauros, while Team Rocket hold up Kaiza. James and Meowth execute and old-school interrogation while Team Rocket turn the gun around on Kaiza. Misty uses her special lure to hook a Gyrados, before Kaiza runs in and tells our gang that Team Rocket knows the location of Dratini. Jessie is in love with Dratini’s beauty, while James and Meowth are suffocating underwater. They scare Dratini, and Meowth suggests they just bomb the lake. Staryu grabs Kaiza (HYUUUUUUUUU), while Ash grabs the bomb to take it back to the surface. He is running out of breath, but Dragonair saves him, and it’s the Dratini from Kaiza’s memory, and the current Dratini is her kid! What a story! Ash sends his horde of bulls to Professor Oak who gets trampled.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Dragonair, so majestic.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, fuck him and his bomb.
One thing I learned: The good always win.
