Pokemon 37: Ditto’s Mysterious Mansion

Pokemon Company

Airdate: December 9th, 1997

Summary: A storm is raining down on our friends, they run into a weird house. A Pikachu comes to greet Pikachu, but its eyes are bugging out. Ash gets into insta-catch mode, his ball gets intercepted in mid-air by another, thrown by Duplica in an Ash get-up. She introduces her Ditto, who can turn into any Pokémon. Ash doubts Ditto’s strength, and gets owned while battling with his Bulbasaur. Ash still has a lot to learn. Duplica shows off her wardrobe while Ash is brooding. Duplica recalls her past struggles with training Ditto’s Transform, and she faces some tough crowds. Team Rocket shows up, and quickly captures Ditto. They escape, and do some Giovanni roleplay, kinky. Ash has a come to Arceus moment, and realizes that his attitude has changed regarding Duplica. Meanwhile Pidgeotto goes to scout Ditto’s location, what a criminally underrated bird. The gang does a four-way Rocket motto, and its actually kind of a banger. Team Rocket explains that they shocked Ditto into perfecting its Transform, and then take off with Ditto and without Meowth. Duplica susses this out, and Ditto escapes. Pikachu and Ditto team up to blast Team Rocket away.

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Duplica and Ditto, what a duo.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, he is salty and still sucks at battling.

One thing I learned: Ditto trainers need to know quite a lot about every Pokémon to be successful.

Pikachu-o-meter: 4/5, good rescue scene this episode.

Best Quote: “Hmmmm, she may be a little young for me” -Brock

Best Scene: The Giovanni roleplay and the revised motto.
