Airdate: December 16th, 1997
Summary: Our gang has made it to Matcha city, but Pokémon Center has been having transfer problems. It appears to be a virus, and Ash has an interesting thought experiment with a devil and a computer. The Sensei traps the gang in a transfer pod in his compound, and explains the Rocket Gang is stealing the Pokémon from inside the internet. Akihabara Sensei transports the gang into cyberspace, where they ride Porygon in search of Team Rocket, who have created a Pokeball roadblock. They confront Team Rocket who has their own Porygon, they duel it out. Without the right communication, Nurse Joy gets someone to release a vaccine, putting every in the computer system in harm’s way. The vaccine dude sends the final command to the vaccine, sending a blast into the system, and Team Rocket gets transported to a dark space in the internet. Porygon and Bulbasaur save them from deep space before the vaccine closes the wormhole. Porygon is struggling, while the vaccine takes aim again. Everyone escapes the internet, but Akihabara’s lab is destroyed, maybe for the best.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Porygon, what a majestic, angular Pokémon.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Akihabara-Sensei, come on man, stop playing around.
One thing I learned: Give a scientist a huge compound and free reign with a computer system and he will mess shit up.
Pikachu-o-meter: 3/5, blows up some rockets, otherwise quiet.
