Airdate: April 30th, 1998
Summary: Dark City, almost as bad as Gringy City. This city is a ghost town, kids getting rushed out of the street and little kids throwing rocks. Pikachu shocks them, and they explain that they hate trainers like the Yaz and Kaz gyms, who are fighting. Its Electabuzz versus Scyther, two dope Pokémon. Team Rocket threaten a shop owner dressed as Kaz gym members, he mentions not wanting trouble, and Team Rocket can’t resist coming out of their disguises. Brock uses his Vulpix to the surprise of everyone, and our gang come to the good graces of some in the town. Who is this pink-haired trench-coated person lurking in the corner? The Yaz gym recruits the gang, Ash is Tom Ato, Misty is Ann Chove, and Brock is Caesar Salad. The gang meets the leader, and Pikachu’s ketchup move sets Scyther off, the gym leader is impressed. He asks Ash to be his body guard, and after he declines the Yaz gym go after him. The Yaz and Kaz go all West Side Story, battling in the streets while the gang sets up some barrels of ketchup. The gang pour ketchup on Electabuzz and Scyther, they duel to a draw, and decide to destroy those meddling kids, Ruh-row! Pikachu sends the might of God from the heavens down on the Yaz and Kaz gym leaders, but the trench coat lady is revealed to be Nurse Joy! And she fails both the Yaz and Kaz gyms, forcing them to work for their designation. Ash gives a Ted Talk, rambles on with some incoherent psychobabble, but the gym leaders work to repair the town.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Pikachu, sweet move with the ketchup.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: The Kaz gym leader, do not like him whatsoever.
One thing I learned: Ketchup fucks with Scyther and Electabuzz.
Pikachu-o-meter: 5/5, another banger from Pikachu. Sick ketchup move.
