Airdate: May 14th, 1998
Summary: Our friends stop in Mossgreen Town, just in time for an Ash and Misty argument. Team Rocket has thoughts of Pikachu but Meowth is sick as a dog, before they ditch Meowth they get stopped by a sweet young woman, Cassandra, who Meowth quickly falls in love with for healing him. Our gang stops in Cassandra’s shop, who asks for a battle to help Paras evolve into Parasect to get its mushroom. She needs Pikachu to go easy, but even the smallest static bolt drops this weak insect. Squirtle tries his hand, but even a little water knocks Paras out. Ash sends Charmeleon, but he will not go easy, absolutely blazing Paras and giving it a gnarly Tail Whip. Paras runs into the forest, and Meowth trains it to get some experience. The gang finds Paras, and Ash tries to get Charmeleon to help out again, but the Grandma points out that Ash doesn’t have the experience to handle Charmeleon right now. Team Rocket, in their pep squad uniforms, cheer on Paras who puts a little claw and gets enough experience to evolve. Team Rocket actually gets in Cassandra’s good graces, until she says Meowth can’t stay because they are heroes.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, he was the most admirable he has ever been.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Charmander, what an attitude on this one.
One thing I learned: Mushrooms are good kids.
Pikachu-o-meter: Pikachu, good work wrangling Charmeleon.
