
Airdate: June 18th, 1998
Summary: Ash and his friends are chilling in the meadow, Brock is polishing his egg, the gang talks about a Farfetch’d citing. Ash and Brock chirp out, just in time for a Farfetch’d to come and lure Misty into the forest, only to run into a con artist. The guy and Farfetch’d are in cahoots, and Misty has lost all of her Pokémon. The con-artist, Keith, makes a deal with Team Rocket to give them his Pokémon, and even leaves his bird buddy behind with a getaway boat. The boat was rigged, and Farfetch’d scoops up all of Misty’s and Team Rocket’s Pokémon. Team Rocket is on the chase, the gang gets Officer Jenny’s help, but Psyduck gets away takes our heroes to Keith. Team Rocket finds Keith, demands their Pokémon back and Keith gives them dummy balls. Misty and the gang confront Keith, challenging him to a battle. Farfetch’d faces Bulbasaur, and gets wrecked, until it starts using its agility to win the battle. Keith’s doubts about Farfetch’d are assuaged, and Misty challenges Keith to a battle. Psyduck gets beat over the head with Farfetch’d’s leek, activating Psyduck’s Disable attack. Keith is sorry, and decides to give back all of the Pokémon, Keith gets off easy having learned his lesson.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: The Backpack Bandit, he did some terrible shit, but his heart was in the right place, sort of. Honorable mention, Psyduck, another underrated Pokémon.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Misty, she needs to be nicer to Psyduck, they are trying their best, and suffer from chronic headaches.
One thing I learned: You gotta actually train a Pokémon for them to get stronger.
