Airdate: July 23rd, 1998
Summary: Brock is making some yummy rice balls, and Ash has a sixth sense while pushing the gang down. He wasn’t doing it for nothing, as there is a photographer hiding in the bushes. Ash sics Squirtle on him, and Todd is a bit haughty about his photo skills. All Todd wants is a picture of Pikachu, who is camera shy. Todd struggles to take a picture of his muse; he wants a naturistic photo of Pikachu. Todd is more determined than ever, and freaks Pikachu out a little bit. Todd recalls an old couple whose only wish is to “capture” a Pikachu. The old couple turn out to be Team Rocket, who are fighting over a piece of beef. Ash plays with Todd who still can’t take that photo, this kid is riding the struggle bus. Todd sits behind a bush, waiting for the perfect shot when Ash chides him for not understanding the feelings of Pokémon when they fall into a patented Team Rocket trap. Todd gets his shot, but Ash and Pikachu fall further into a sewage line. Todd saves Ash and Pikachu from falling down a waterfall with his camera, what a great catch. Team Rocket shows up, nets Pikachu and bombs our boys in red and blue. Ash distracts James and the gang with a photo in time for the final bomb to detonate. Ash now has time to use Bulbasaur to cut the bag and free Pikachu and chase Team Rocket out of town.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Todd, what a sweet guy helping out an old couple in need.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, you gotta read context clues my friend.
One thing I learned: Pikachu is camera shy, what a goober.
