Pokemon Company

Airdate: September 24th, 1998

Summary: Ashy boy is coming home! On the way home a Mr. Mime is in the road, Ash wants to catch it but so does a blue-haired ringmaster named Stella. Stella wants a new Mr. Mime because she wants to light a fire under the one she has now. Brock plans to dress Ash up as a Mr. Mime until he can catch one. Team Rocket meets Giovanni and he challenges them to catch a rare Pokémon. Meanwhile, Stella literally whips Ash into shape for his circus performance. Team Rocket crashes the circus, and captures Ash the Mr. Mime. He escapes from Team Rocket and cops their balloon, while Delia feeds Stella, Brock, Misty, and Mr. Mime. Delia thinks Mr. Mime is Ash.. good work mom. Team Rocket shows up to the circus with a dope tank and starts netting Pokémon. Pikachu tries its electric attacks but they don’t work, and Charizard still won’t obey Ash. Mr. Mime starts making some effective screens, finally getting off the couch. Delia’s Mr. Mime shows up and it’s a regular mime-off, Team Rocket is completely stonewalled, and Stella and Mr. Mime are back in good graces. Delia takes in Mr. Mime, Ash’s family has grown by one.

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, he wore a Mr. Mime costume for a random stranger, that’s enough. For this award. Also, he steals the Team Rocket balloon.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Stella, I know she learned, and got her Mr. Mime in shape… but she is a taskmaster for most of the episode and uses Ash.

One thing I learned: Delia has a way with Mr. Mime.

Pikachu-o-meter: 2/5, a real non-factor, at least it tried a little to stop Team Rocket.

Best Quote: “That thing is half-twerp, half Mime” -Jessie

Best Scene: The Team Rocket tank, what a bomb vehicle.
