Pokemon 66: Snow Way Out

Pokemon Company

Airdate: October 5th, 1998

Summary: Ash and the crew are walking… somewhere in Kanto. They disagree about what route to take, Ash takes them up the mountain. They get lost, but Pidgeotto finds the way, what a criminally underrated Pokémon. Jessie reminisces about her snow meals, her snowgasbord. Team Rocket losses their balloon, and Jessie decides to make snow rolls with soy sauce in the balloon, so they go to find it. Ash and the gang decide to dig into the snow storm, but Pikachu gets blown away, and Ash goes to find him. He finds Pikachu dangling on a cliff, and Bulbasaur comes and lifts Pikachu up, but not before a dramatic fall. Ash decides to dig a snow cave while covering Pikachu, and he calls… Charmander? Another flashback episode it seems, this is the last… bye bye Charmander. Everyone pitches in to dig the hole, and Charmander uses its flame to warm the crew. Team Rocket is in an igloo, and Jessie has made some snow rolls, and James and Meowth are not handling the cold well. Charmander is exhausted, but it won’t go back in its Pokeball. Even though they will be warmer, they refuse. Ash still puts them in their balls. They want to keep each other warm, and they all come out of their balls after Ash blocks the wall from an air leak. Everyone comes out of their balls, to hug Ash and keep warm. What a moment!!!! The storm blows over, Ash and Misty find Ash alive, and he gang steals Team Rockets balloon, classic. Team Rocket notices, and they fall into a hot spring in the snow.

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash and his Pokémon, what a tight group of buddies.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: James and Meowth, they could have embraced the snow food more.

One thing I learned: Ash has the best Pokémon buddies in the world.

Pikachu-o-meter: 4/5, love a game of charades from our favorite mouse.

Best Quote: “Snow, snow, I love it so… it brings back delicious memories” -Jessie

Best Scene: The Ash family group hug. God I love this show!
