Summary: Our hero is home, but he has to stay in Pallet while Brock and Misty go to the beach. Professor Oak has a problem, he doesn’t know why Slowpoke gets bitten by Shellder and evolves. Professor Westwood is the man to see about the problem, and Ash sets out for the Seafoam Islands. Ash meets up with his friends, and Westwood talks about his lineage. Dexter calls Slowpoke dopey, and Psyduck decides to match lack of wits with Slowpoke. Meowth and Team Rocket are chilling in the Seafoam Islands, acting as Giovanni’s lackies. James is digging in the sand, and finds a Shellder. Shellder is a tough cookie, but Weezing knocks it out, and Jessie catches it. Westwood is using a simulation to predict Slowpoke’s evolution, and Team Rocket crashes in on a parasail. Jessie, James, and Meowth are on a vanity trip, they want all the Pokémon in Westwood’s lab and to have their information programmed into the Pokedex. Shellder bites Psyduck, and flips it into the air, and it lands right on Psyduck’s head. This duck has the psychic power in their hands, the psychic powers in their hands, they have psychic powers in their hands, the psychic in their hands. Shellder gets thrown to the beach and gets a bite of Slowpokes tail. Team Rocket attacks Slowbro, but they punch Team Rocket into the next universe. Westwood explains the mutual benefits of Slowpoke’s and Shellder’s marriage,
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Slowpoke/Slowbro, what a lovable, chill Pokémon.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Jessie, she caught a Shellder, she lost a Shellder.
One thing I learned: A Shellder’s only goal is to get a bite of Slowpoke’s tail.
Pikachu-o-meter: 4/5, funny moment with Psyduck and Slowpoke, Pikachu doesn’t speak slow.
Best Quote: “I know how to calm you up for good” -Meowth
Best Scene: The Psyduck and Slowbro mash-up at the end.
