Episode 82: Friends to the End

Airdate: January 21^st, 1999

Summary: Ash is sad, thinking over his fifth-round loss. His family and friends try and get him out of his funk, Pikachu shocks Ash and he visits Richie before his big match. Richie faces a Rhydon, Venomoth, and a most likely a Tentacool. Sparky faces an Ivysaur, and Rickie loses the match. Ash meets up with Ritchie after the match, and their Pokémon play together. They talk about their defeats, consoling each other. Jessie and James show up after Ash and Ritchie fall into their trap. Team Rocket captures Pikachu and Sparky, but Pidgeotto and Bulbasaur have other ideas, what an underrated bird and a great plant monster. Zippo joins the party, sending Team Rocket running with their hair on fire. Ash and Ritchie send them flying, and go eat dinner with Misty and Brock before the closing ceremonies. The closing ceremonies draw to end while fireworks fill the sky. Ash says goodbye to Richie, and a Pokémon League montage commences with the theme song playing in the background.

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash and Ritchie, sending Team Rocket off one last time together

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, they got lambasted all episode. 

One thing I learned: Ash has a bright future ahead of him, and some great friends.
