Airdate: February 4th, 1999
Summary: Ash and the gang stop at the Snorlax convenience store. A store promotion is giving away a free blimp ride to Valencia Island, the gang wins the grand prize. Team Rocket get reassigned to the blimp brigade, Giovanni plans to collect the insurance money. Team Rocket show up and make sure Ash and Pikachu get on the blimp. The blimp gets off of the ground, and Ash almost steps through the floor. Ash and the gang are served dinner, a nice cup of cold soup. Nobody knows who is flying this blimp, so Meowth decides to read the manual. Team Rocket start trying to balance the blimp, but their brains are waterlogged, and they let all of the water out of the blimp. Jessie suggests they focus on catching Pikachu. A storm is raging and Togepi is nowhere to be found, will the gang find our favorite egg Pokémon? The gang look for Togepi, but Jigglypuff wearing a sheet forces them to think the blimp is haunted. They run into Team Rocket, who uses Arbok and Weezing to capture Pikachu, but the electric shock risks everyone’s safety. Brock sends out Geodude, who sends Weezing flying. Meowth tries and use the monkey bars to grab Togepi, while Misty walks the tightrope and Jigglypuff pops in. Jigglypuff sings her song, and Team Rocket falls asleep on their parachute while Bulbasaur grabs Togepi. The gas is starting to leak from tanks that got punctured, and Ash decides to use the Pokémon’s weight to steer the blimp. Ash and the crew finally land on Valencia Island.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Geodude, the way her threw Weezing like a baseball.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Jigglypuff… can we stop with this already!
One thing I learned: Don’t ride in an almost decommissioned blimp.
