Pokemon 86: The Lost Lapras

Pokemon Company

Airdate: February 18th, 1999

Summary: Ash and the crew crash into a mountain, and wander around in the forest. An old group of tourists take pictures with Pikachu. They end up in Pokémon Park, and leave for the beach. A group of punks are hitting a Lapras, and say they are some Pokémon trainers. They bring out a Beedrill, a Spearow, and a Hitmonchan. A boy in a backpack is assessing the Pokémon of these assholes, criticizing all of them. This boy loves Pikachu’s electric sacks though, But Pikachu sends them flying. The boy leaves a potion for Ash to give Lapras. Lapras won’t take the medicine. They are able to bring it into the Pokémon Center, and the boy explains that he is a Pokémon Watcher, and that Lapras is a baby. Tracy Sketchit introduces himself, and Ash and the gang make some new friends. Tracy explains that there is an Orange League, which is right up Ash’s alley. Ash calls Prof. Oak, and asks if he can take the Orange Island challenge before he goes to drop off the GS ball. The gang try and get Lapras to go back in the ocean, but it is scared of people. Jigglypuff sings its song, and everyone falls asleep. Jiggly pulls out their pen and marks everyone’s faces. Ash is determined to throw Shamoo, I mean Lapras, back in the ocean. Team Rocket hooks Lapras up to a truck, and Tracy is enamored with Meowth’s speaking ability. Team Rocket take off, but Tracey uses his Venonat to stop locate the truck. Ash bikes, and throws himself on the truck to help Lapras, who has a new admiration for Lapras. Ash and Lapras fall off the cliff and in the ocean. Lapras has joined the squad!

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, he protects Lapras and accepts the Orange League challenge.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: The Three Assholes of Poke Park beach, fuck you guys.

One thing I learned: Give Ash a gym challenge and he is on that shit like stink on a bug.

Island Monitor: Pokémon Park

Best Quote: “Ok, you just got yourself a new traveling buddy” -Tracy

Best Scene: Team Rocket coughing in their motto.
