Summary: The crew moves to Mandarin Island, where Butch and Cassidy are planning a little payback. They crew stumble upon some trouble, everyone’s Pokémon are revolting against them. Pikachu and Togepi cross some line which turn them against Ash, and they disappear. Officer Jenny explains this trend on the island, and Prof. Oak and Officer Jenny determine that it is most likely a psychic attack, because her Gastly isn’t affected. Jessie and James lose Meowth to the psychic power, and then face-off with Butch and Cassidy. Butch and Cassidy show off their Pokémon, and Jessie and James try and take them, but Drowzee has a trick up their sleeve, and turn Arbok, Weezing, Victrebell, and Lickitung against Jessie and James. Jessie and James wake up in the Pokémon Center all bandaged up, Misty and Ash question them, and Team Rocket reveals that Butch and Cassidy were behind it. Jessie and James hatch a scheme to smuggle the crew and Officer Jenny into the lab where Drowzee and the Pokémon are. Drowzee launches an attack, but Gastly resists all of Drowzee’s attacks while all of the Pokémon aim their attacks at the crew. Ash baits Pikachu to destroy the machine powering Drowzee. All of the Pokémon wake from their stupor, and Jessie and James help Officer Jenny break the Pokémon free and arrest Butch and Cassidy after a battle with Drowzee and Togepi. Ash and the crew get an honorary citizen ticket by Mandarin Island, and Jessie and James did something right for a change.
