Airdate: May 13th, 1999
Summary: Team Rocket starts the episode on the bottom of the ocean floor, they are able to raise their ship to the surface, only to find our gang. Squirtle blasts Jessie, James, and Meowth off onto an island. This island is spreading Meowth propaganda, just in time for Meowth to show up on the island the night they pray for one to show up. Meowth gets treated to some food, and the town is shocked when they find out Meowth can speak human. They think this Meowth is the Meowth of bounty. Meowth finds this opportunity advantageous, and gorges on meatballs while ordering around the island folks like servants. Meowth even gets a few kisses, what a deal. He wishes Team Rocket would hare in his luck, but spots the kids instead. Meowth worries they will give him away. Meowth tells the folks of Golden Island to force the kids off of the island. They use a mechanical Meowth to chase them off of the island. Meowth is pleased that the twerps left, but is mortified that Team Rocket showed up. He denies knowing them, and they get thrown in the sea. According to the prophecy, Meowth is supposed to use Pay Day, a move he is unable to perform. The mechanical Meowth shakes our favorite cat, and the islanders try and give Meowth battling experience to help him learn. They throw him in the ring versus a Nidoking, but he still can’t use Pay Day. Next, they sent out an Onix, but it knocks Meowth out. Team Rocket throws all of their bottle caps to help Meowth get in the islander’s good graces. Meowth is on the throne again, but doesn’t understand how he used Pay Day. He gets offered the opportunity to rule Golden Island, but realizes Team Rocket helped him, and decides to leave and rejoin Team Rocket. Meowth explains that only two people care about him, and they offer Meowth the chance to rejoin them.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, he got his kicks in before he got the boot.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: The Golden Islanders, they were ready to serve Meowth on a platter.
One thing I learned: Meowth will always need Team Rocket
