Airdate: July 29th, 1999
Summary: Our friends land on an island where a bad fire is breaking out. The crew comes to help out, but a group of highly skilled Wartortle are up to the task. Squirtle looks on in jealousy as Captain Aidan and his Wartortle with the yellow scarf. Squirtle is jealous of the Wartortle, and puts on the Squirtle Squad glasses, Ash has their back and requests a training session. Team Rocket schemes to steal Pikachu and the turtles, while Wartortle and Squirtle race. After a tie where both Squirtles break the turtle land speed record, Captain Aidan offers a full day session. These turtles shoot targets with Water Gun, but one of the targets take the turtles into a hole. They end up being smoked out by Team Rocket, Scyther blows out the smoke, but our turtles are gone. Captain Aidan and the crew look for Team Wartortle, while they get a call from Officer Jenny informing them of another fire. Scyther and Marill go and help Misty fight the fire while Venonat spots Team Rocket. Venonat uses Tackle attack while Team Wartortle and Squirtle roll out of the house, get their net ripped, and find our friends. All of the turtles combine to get Team Rocket wet just in time for a Pikachu Thunderbolt. The fire is still raging, but Misty and Tracey’s Pokémon are too tired, luckily Team Wartortle is on the case with Squirtle. A kid is in the burning building, Blastoise sends Squirtle and Wartortle up to the top floor to rescue the child. Squirtle saves Wartortle and the kid and they all escape. Wartortle and Squirtle earn each other’s respect and part as friends.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Squirtle, any episode with the Squirtle Squad glasses is a banger.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, why did you rip the net dude?
One thing I learned: Turtles are best when they work together.
