Summary: Our friends have been stuck on Butwal Island for a week, and they pull the wrong flowers, revealing a kid named Gulzar who challenges Ash to a match. Gulzar has a Gloom (which Ash has seen at least three times to this point, yet still checks his Pokedex) while Ash uses Squirtle. Ash waters this weed Pokémon, calls it back (thus losing the match?) and brings Snorlax out by accident. Snorlax is asleep, and Gulzar is pissed. Gloom uses a Solarbeam to wake it up, Snorlax is up and tries to eat Gloom, Gulzar, and whatever else in its path. There is a Pokémon Center on the other side of the mountain, but its Poke Ball is broken and they have to lure Snorlax to the Center on its own volition. Ash dresses up as an apple to lure Ash. The crew builds a raft but Snorlax sinks it. The crew finally find the Pokémon Center, but it is closed for some reason. Nurse Joy announces that a new delivery of Pokémon food is close, the cargo is dropped in a parachute that Team Rocket steals. Team Rocket offers the food back for Pikachu. Pikachu escapes their clutches, but Meowth’s machine causes problems for Pikachu. Snorlax enters the fray and avoids all of Meowth’s attacks before using Hyper Beam. Ash tries to embrace Snorlax, but it has its eyes on the care package. After pigging out, Snorlax falls asleep, just in time for it to go in its newly fixed Poke Ball.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Snorlax, what a hungry boy.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: The townspeople, they would let someone steal a Pokémon for some food, rough.
One thing I learned: A Snorlax has got to eat.
Island Monitor: Ascorbia Island -> Butwal Island
Best Quote: “You’re the snack, better run” -Misty
Best Scene: Meowth doing the motto in his egg cat contraption.
