Summary: Ash and the crew land on Kumquat Island, but Tracey and Misty are skeptical that Ash will win his fourth badge. A woman hotelier believes Ash is her Sunny boy, but After Ash gets a face full of her chest she realizes she just might have assaulted a random 11 year-old. The lady thinks he is Travis, but before they figure out who she is, Team Rocket busts in with an environmentally safe robo-Rhydon powered by Lickitung and Arbok. The woman protects Ash and Pikachu with her Alakazam, and threatens Team Rocket. Misty calls Jessie and old winch, causing Jessie to retaliate with fury, attacking the woman who turns out to be the Orange League gym leader. She commands Alakazam to close the robo-Rhydon’s mouth, smoking Team Rocket out before they blow up with the help of Charizard. Our friends are offered a free hotel stay in Luana’s deluxe suite. This hotel has everything, a gym, a Pokémon arena, and the chance for a fourth badge. Luana challenges Ash to a double match. The battle begins the next day, with an announcement from a dude that sounds too much like Brock. Luana selects Alakazam and Marowak, Ash chooses Pikachu and Charizard. Ash’s pair gets off on the wrong foot, with Charizard burning Pikachu medium rare. Alakazam is able to stop an attack from Charizard, and Pikachu zaps Charizard to free them. This lizard is taking all of the damage while Pikachu is stinking up the gym, come on Pika! Pikachu and Charizard turn the tides on Marowak’s Bonemerang, avoiding it and causing Alakazam to get hit while using Hyper Beam on Marowak. Ash wins his fourth badge, and is ready to battle for the Orange League Winner’s Trophy.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Charizard and Pikachu, good work you two! Off to Pummelo.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Arbok, tripping on Acid again.
One thing I learned: You have to overcome yourself to fight with another in a Pokémon battle.
