Summary: The smoke clears, and both Lapras and Gengar are knocked out of the battle. Ash rests while there is a field change. This time the field is a desert sand box. Drake chooses Venusaur while Ash sends Tauros out. Tauros uses Fissure but gets stuck in the desert. It gets its hooves out to charge Venusaur, but it still takes a direct Solarbeam. This frees Tauros from the sand, who hits Venusaur with a Take Down that knocks down this plant monster. Drake sends out Electabuzz and Ash recalls Tauros for Bulbasaur. Drake starts with a Thundershock, but Bulbasaur shakes it off. Bulbasaur hits with a tackle, but Electabuzz’s Thunderpunch is too much. Ash uses Charizard, who once in the match gets hit by a Thunderpunch and a Thunder attack. Charizard uses Seismic Toss, defeating Electabuzz. Drake sends out his Dragonite, the whole crowd is in awe. Charizard starts off the battle with a Flamethrower, but Dragonite hits Charizard with a critical Water Gun. Charizard dodges Dragonite’s Ice Beam, and the two dragons fight in the air. Dragonite gets a great grip on Charizard and uses a Slam attack. Charizard gets up and uses a Dragon Rage attack. Both dragons are hit, but Dragonite is left standing. Squirtle comes in and uses a Hydro Pump attack, but Dragonite ends it with a strong Thunderbolt attack and a Body Slam, but not before a Bubble attack. Team Rocket try and catch Dragonite but it slams them into the sky. Ash sends Tauros out, Dragonite slams it but Ash uses the field as a cushion. Tauros slams Dragonite, whittling down its health before Dragonite beats Tauros with a Thunderbolt. Pikachu uses its agility, and powers its speed up enough to escape the Hyper Beam with its tail. Pikachu lands on Dragonite, holding its ears and using Thunder to hit Dragonite with a critical hit. Both Pokémon stare each other down, but Pikachu stays standing while Dragonite is unable to battle. Ash wins the match, becoming the first victor over Drake, while winning the trophy and a spot in the Orange League Hall of Fame.
