Pokemon 124: Flower Power

Pokemon Company

Airdate: November 18th, 1999

Summary: Our heroes are in Florandum City, and learn about a show in town. They run into a street fair with a bunch of Kanto Pokémon, and find a pair of jumping Bellossom. The Bellossom try the Bell loopty loop, but one of them misses their part and runs into Ash. The Bellossom’s trainer is Bailey, and Brock is smitten. Team Rocket walks into the street fair, and have a plan for a dance and talking Meowth routine. Meowth does a comedy routine that flops, apparently a talking Meowth isn’t the novelty it used to be. Team Rocket bulldoze their way into the fair, start attacking with Victrebell and Arbok, but Bellossom’s chemistry is too high for our favorite poison Pokémon. Team Rocket hatches a plan to steal the Pokémon at tomorrow’s exhibition, and Pikachu trains with the Bellossom. The Bellossom practice the loopty loop and falls into Ash’s arms again. Team Rocket binds the three exhibition hosts and runs the exhibition. Right when they start announcing, Meowth comes and nets all of the Pokémon, so Ash sends Pikachu up to pop the balloon, sending it crashing into a park. Another battle ensues, and Pikachu uses its superior dance moves in combination with the Bell loopty loop to knock Arbok out. Team Rocket gets send away with a twister. Bellossom land their loopty loop in the exhibition.

Best Trainer/Pokémon: James, that tutu is a game-changer.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, his comedy career is over.

One thing I learned: Flower power is real, man.

Who is that Pokémon?: Spinarak, this is a dope spider, really weak but fun to have on your team for a bit.

Best Quote: “What do you mean who cares about Pokémon?” -Misty

Best Scene: Bellossom landing the loopty loop.
