Airdate: December 9th, 1999
Summary: Our crew walks through a city park, and spot a baby Stantler. Brock tries to make it feel comfortable, but it uses hypnosis to send a fake Stantler herd at it while it slips away. Officer Jenny slips out of the bush, and Team Rocket runs into our gang complaining about a herd of Stantler. Another stampede comes, but Brock is not afraid of the fake stampede and it finds the baby Stantler in the illusion. Brock bandages Stantler up, and explains how he noticed that the fake Stantler were blending into buildings. James spends all of Team Rocket’s money to buy a machine that will catch Stantler, and Brock stays up all night with the deer Pokémon. Stantler doesn’t want to leave, but Brock makes it go in the forest, but he is not taking it well. James catches Stantler, while the crew notices Team Rocket is on the prowl. Stantler starts giving Meowth mixed emotions, and Brock comes to rescue Stantler. Team Rocket traps Brock in a makeshift cell, but he uses Onix to release him from it. Ash and Pikachu try and shock Team Rocket but it doesn’t reach. Brock is determined to get Stantler, but not more than its mother who pulls a Bambi and jumps from the ledge. Bulbasaur grabs Stantler with its Vine Whip, but the net breaks and Brock has to catch Stantler. Brock reintroduces it to its mother, and a crew of Stantler actually stampede on Team Rocket.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Stantler, what an ingenious move by this baby Stantler.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: James, stop trying to catch a baby Pokémon.
One thing I learned: Brock is a great Pokémon breeder, a real hot streak for Brocko.
Who is that Pokémon?: Totodile, what an adorable buddy. The first Pokémon that isn’t a direct preview.
