Summary: Our friends make it to Violet City! Phew! As they get into the city Pikachu is harassed by two kids, Ash grabs it before it gives the kids a wild shock. A teacher runs out and makes sure the kids didn’t cause a problem, Brock assures her that she has nothing to worry about. They go to the training academy with the teacher, Priscilla, Brock and the crew meet Earl Dirvish, and decides he will be a dancing queen. Ash struggles as a lecturer and gets heckled by a kid. Misty suggests they meet all of the crews Pokémon in person. Heracross tries to eat Bulbasaur, and Chikorita gets close to Ash. Priscilla is taking the class on a field trip to the Sprout Tower, and the little kid , Zachy, tries to steal Pikachu. Pikachu runs away from Zachy, and after the kid throws the ball at Pikachu it misses, but catches another Pokémon. Ash and Zachy fall into a Team Rocket pitfall. They attract Pikachu with a phony voice modulator after figuring out that the kid caught a Bellsprout. Ash warns Pikachu about the net, and Pikachu sends Team Rocket flying. Brock and Misty watch the beam as it moves right to left, and Zachy isn’t a big fan of its new Bellsprout. Weezing sends smoke into Sprout Tower, and Team Rocket occupies Sprout Tower. They threaten to cut the bream and send it flying with a rocket. Bulbasaur and Bellsprout help stop the beam operation, and send Team Rocket flying which they happily enjoy for a while. Zachy admires Ash, and our friends are off to the gym.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Pikachu, what an episode for our mouse.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, they turn into pseudo-terrorists this episode.
One thing I learned: Age is but a number.
