Airdate: March 16th, 2000
Summary: Our friends are walking in a beautiful valley, surrounded by snowy mountains, when a Mareep tackles Pikachu to zap a bit of its energy so that its fleece would be on fleek. Pikachu struggles in a growing herd of Mareep who all feed off of Pikachu. A young girl, Mary, runs in to corral the Mareep. Her mother, with her Raichu, get the Mareep to come back with a static shower. Ash and the gang get some coffee, and Brock thinks Mary’s mom is a MILF… oh lord it never stops with this boy. Our friends get to help take care of the Mareep, while Mary obviously has some ambitions that her mother does not accept. Team Rocket plans to steal Mareep for their wool, James talks about his Mareep wool clothes as a child. Ash catches Mary training her Mareep, Fluffy, and they are a battling crew. Mary wants to battle Ash; it seems like her practice has been reserved for non-battle training. It’s Pikachu vs. Fluffy, this sheep and her trainer are serious. Pikachu and Fluffy square off Thundershock’s, but Fluffy gets tired from using all of its energy. Ash has learned a lot, and Mary reminds me of him at an earlier stage, she is tough and loves her Pokémon. Mary and Fluffy talk about their battling dreams, and her mother catches them talking about their need to do more work before they can enter the festival. Storm clouds roll in, its perfect for some Mareep raising. The lightning hits the Mareep and their fur is amazing. Fluffy looks like a sheep goddess, this is strictly a Mareep propaganda episode. Team Rocket net the Mareep, and their balloon is powered with an electric energy panel that Raichu manages to break. The Mareep fall, and catch Pikachu with Team Rocket tries to salvage their failure with a battle. The Mareep send a group shock, but Meowth uses an energy panel. It’s time for fluffy to step up, and the other Mareep assist it enough to power past Team Rocket. Pikachu lands the decisive blow. Mary and Fluffy battle in the tournament, what a story! This is the best episode of the season by far.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Fluffy the Mareep, this sheep is a boss.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, they had a decent plan but it makes the failure that much worse.
One thing I learned: Ash is a role model, and has an admirer.
Who is that Pokémon?: Scizor, This is a top-3 Pokémon of the whole generation.
