Pokemon 143: Good ‘Quil Hunting

Airdate: March 30^th, 2000

Summary: Our friends are lost in the forest, when a guy runs up on them and asks if they have seen any Cyndaquil. Team Rocket talk about all of the work they had to do to get their latest invention, specially made to catch Pikachu. They pop into Misty and Brock’s path with a robo-Meowth, but after hearing that Ash is out looking for Cyndaquil it goes after him. Team Rocket sees Ash, tries to capture Pikachu, but fails miserably. Ash bounces and finds a Cyndaquil up on a ledge. They boy arrived with his Sandslash before Ash gets to the top, but Team Rocket shows up to get in Ash’s way. Team Rocket fires a rubber ball that gets in the way of Ash and the boy catching Cyndaquil. Ash catches Cyndaquil who flees the ball, and keeps it from being hurt in the blast of the ball. Team Rocket smokes Ash out of the cave, and sticks Ash to the mountain with bubblegum. He tells Cyndaquil to leave but it burns the robot. The combination of that burn and Ash throwing a Pokeball at the robot, catching Cyndaquil, makes it explode. Ash gets challenged to a battle by the kid, who annoys him into a battle for Cyndaquil. The boy uses his Sandslash, and Ash battles with Cyndaquil. This fire Pokémon is a bit tired and uninterested in the battle, but has some serious dodging skills. This Pokémon has crazy defensive ability, and it tires Sandslash out. This Pokémon does have an issue getting its fire started, it takes a long time for Cyndaquil to get it up. Sandslash seems to have landed the final blow, but Cyndaquil powers up just in time to use a Tackle attack when Sandslash gets its paw stuck in a tree. Ash gets Cyndaquil!

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, this man was on a mission. 

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: The random kid, fuck him he is annoying. 

One thing I learned: Ash has some serious perseverance.
