Airdate: April 27th, 2000
Summary: Our friends are walking through the Ilex Forest and Brock turns into a delusional old detective trying to find the way out. Team Rocket is hungry and tired, and our crew run into a boy with a Farfetch’d who won’t listen to him. The boy, Sylvester, gets advice from our friends to have Farfetch’d use the Cut attack, and he tells them of his father’s charcoal business. Ash calls Prof. Oak, who gives him advice on what to do now. Sylvester runs into the Pokémon Center and tells the crew and Nurse Joy that the Farfetch’d ran off, and Nurse Joy suggests that it is at his father’s work. Sylvester’s father is making charcoal, and he is pissed that Farfetch’d is lost and belittles Sylvester. Team Rocket are still struggling, and when they find Farfetch’d they go a bit nuts in their pursuit. Sylvester and our gang regroup at the shrine of Celebi, and they let all of their Pokémon out to look for Farfetch’d. Team Rocket use their Pokémon to scare Farfetch’d, capturing its leek to make it weak. They capture the duck, but run into Ash and Sylvester. Team Rocket make a hasty exit, but Bulbasaur and Chikorita break the net Farfetch’d is kept in. Weezing drops some serious sludge, and Arbok almost finishes them off with a Poison Sting. Brock, Misty, Onix, and Poliwag show up to help. Ash directs his Pokémon to work as a team to Sylvester’s delight. Sylvester idolizes Ash, and learns that Pokémon need to have one mind with their trainers. Sylvester grabs Farfetch’d’s leek, and they work together to knock Team Rocket out. Sylvester’s Dad is impressed with him, and our friends make another friend on their journey.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, our gang really steps up for Sylvester and Ash advocated for Sylvester.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Sylvester’s Dad, this boy is just growing up, demeaning him won’t help. He has a general point, but he is an ass.
One thing I learned: A Farfetch’d is not worth as much without the leek.
Who is that Pokémon?: Wobbuffet, I am up and down on this Pokémon, and its gimmick in the anime.
