Pokemon Company

Airdate: July 27th, 2000

Summary: Our friends go to the Pokémon Center, and learn about books sold in the new Daycare Center that tell kids their Pokémon fortunes. Ash and the crew buy the book, and Ash learns that he is a Bellsprout. Brock is an Onix type, and Misty is a Gyrados type. Ash and Brock chide Misty for how accurate her type is, and she is infuriated. They go back to the daycare center, but fall into a trap on the way. Team Rocket shows up in their new suits and grab Pikachu, but Misty blasts them off. Team Rocket picks up the gangs Pokémon fortune telling book. Jessie is an Eevee type, James is a Moltres type. The Moltres type will always prevail, and it soars high above all others. Jessie reads that he will get money today, James says it is just a coincidence that he found a rare bottle cap and a silver dollar right after the fortune. James is convinced that the fortune is true, and decides to lean into the Moltres type. James decides to go right into the daycare center for battle. They head right into the center, but the old daycare center couple reveals themselves as Botch and Cassidy. The team is locked up, but James’ and his Moltres persona break out. Our friends are at the Pokémon Center again, and Misty gets offered a Gyrados for a boys Poliwhirl. Misty goes back to the daycare center to asks some questions. Nobody is out front, so they go to the back only to find Butch and Cassidy talking to Giovanni with a warehouse full of caged Pokémon. Our friends fight them, but it gets hot when James the Mighty Moltres busts in and demands all of the people in the warehouse give their Pokémon back. James uses his Victrebell, it doesn’t bite him, and it knocks out Cassidy’s Raticate. This Victrebell has turned a corner, but Botch tells James that the fortune book is fiction. Jessie uses her Wobbuffet to battle Raticate and Primeape, while Ash and the crew try to break the Pokémon out of their cages. After Team Rocket gets moved out of the way, Ash and the crew attack Botch and Cassidy and free the Pokémon.

Best Trainer/Pokémon: James, this is an all-time James episode.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Botch and Cassidy, they suck.

One thing I learned: James just needs some confidence!

Who is that Pokémon?: Girafarig, what an underrated Pokémon, and a cool design.

Best Quote: “I knew it all along, through all the pain and all the humiliation, I always knew I was meant for something greater, I, James am a mighty Moltres” -James

Best Scene: James in his Moltres costume.
