Airdate: March 29, 2001
Summary: Our friends are walking into a small town when they see someone hunting Dunsparce with a net. The boy’s name is Bucky, and he wants one so he can hang out with all of his classmates who have one. All of these kids are going crazy over Dunsparce, I wonder what it is about these Pokémon. All they do is eat, sleep, and shit according to the kids, and fly sometimes. The kids have all of their Dunsparce race, while bucky has his Caterpie in the race. Bucky’s Caterpie struggles in the race, and Team Rocket looks from behind the bushes. Some of the kids stick up for Bucky for not having a Dunsparce, and Bucky loves his Caterpie. Ash sends out his Noctowl, Chikorita, and Totodile, and Poliwhirl and Golbat also come out to help find Bucky a Dunsparce. Togepi is able to find a Dunsparce in no time, but Bucky’s reactions are too slow to catch it. Team Rocket sends a net down and catches four of the gang’s Pokémon, including Pikachu. Ash sends out Cyndaquil to burn the net down, while Poliwhirl uses their Water Gun, and Cyndaquil uses another Flamethrower to send them flying, but they catch a Dunsparce in the process. Bucky has a great attitude about missing the Dunsparce. Team Rocket wants all of the Dunsparce from the kids, they can never settle. They put on a show, with James as a sad Moltres and Meowth as a Dunsparce, but the kids hate the show. When they offer a Moltres for Dunsparce trade, all the kids bite. Bucky doesn’t quit looking, and finds the kids who have been tricked out of their Pokémon. Bucky asks Ash to help his friends, while Team Rocket has a hard time keeping them in their possession. Ash fights Team Rocket with the help of Misty, double teaming Wobbuffet so it can’t use two Counter attacks. The Dunsparce leave to the kids after battling Arbok. Caterpie fights Dunsparce, slowing it enough to catch it. Everyone says goodbye.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Caterpie, this little bean is trying so hard to beat these Dunsparce.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: They did well getting a Dunsparce… and they blew it.
One thing I learned: Kids are hard to entertain.
