Pokemon Company
Airdate: July 5th, 2001
Summary: A blimp is heading towards a big air station down the road, our heroes see it and run to its landing where they learn that the blimp is flying around the world. The attendant of the ship asks for a Pokemon doctor and Brock volunteers himself to help two sick Pokemon owned by two beauties Alexa and Madison. These pokemon are Greeny and Reddy, two Kecleon of the Hoenn region! Brock heals them, but meanwhile Team Rocket climbs into the blimp up to no good. The girls thank Brock as the Kecleon go for their afternoon nap. Brock flexes his Pineco for the ladies and this blows up in his face. Jessie and James pilfer the ladies rooms and all of their jewels but they get caught by an attendant who alerts our heroes.Everyone is looking for the Kecleon who took Alexa and Madison’s jewels. Team Rocket finds Reddy but it has a first aid kit, meanwhile Greeny shows up and they both escape. Greeny is stuck to the top of the blimp, Brock tries to win their pity by getting Greeny who plays keep away with the jewels. Team Rocket crashes out but somehow runs right into the Kecleon prompting James to perform a meaningless magic trick whimsical. Team Rocket escapes from our heroes who continue to search for the Kecleon who appear right before Brock’s eyes. He tricks the Kecleon into escaping through the front doors into waiting arms. The typical 6-Pokemon battle royale ends in the Kecleon using Psybeam attacks that send Team Rocket flying with a little help from Bayleef’s Vine Whip. Our heroes meet cool new, Pokemon and Alexa and Madison get their jewels back to give to the guy Greeny and Reddy stole it from. Brock ends another episode in romantic turmoil as he is want to do. On the road to Olivine!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Kecleon! I don’t love these Pokemon generally, they are weak and the gimmick wasn’t my cup of tea, but I love soft-launching next gen Pokemon in a prior season.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Alexa and Madison, why so helpless?
One thing I learned: Poliwhirl is the best, oh wait, I already knew that! My favorite Pokemon by far.
