Summary: Our heroes are on Silver Rock Isle before being accosted by a Silver Rock swindler who gets exposed by a real Silver Rock stone enthusiast Ariene. Later, after learning about Silver Rock Isle, we meet Ariene’s friend Jenaro who is unconscious and hurt, along with his Sandslash. Jenaro was busy sculpting and didn’t even eat before falling faint, there has to be more to this story. Meanwhile, Team Rocket plans to steal some silver jewelry before being accosted by the same swindler. Ariene and Jenaro have a witty back and forth, which Misty marks as a lover’s quarrel, makes sense. Ash really wants to learn about the Silver Wing so they stay the night and hear Jenaro’s story. His grandfather was caught in a storm, when a whirlpool appeared out of nowhere and stopped the storm, with a Silver Wing dropping from the clear sky. Jenaro tells our heroes to go to Ogi Isle, and after making Ariene a beautiful Silver Rock pin for a present to ask her hand in marriage. As he goes to town to ask her, our heroes stumble upon Team Rocket vacuuming up all of the silver in town, even Jenaro’s present he made for Ariene. Our heroes and Noctowl run after Team Rocket, piercing their balloon before tracking them down in the forest. Pikachu attempts to stop Arbok and Weezing, but Sandslash ends up using Swift and Sand-Attack to soften up Team Rocket for a Pikachu Thunderbolt. Jenaro finds the box in the wreckage, finds his courage, and asks Ariene for her hand in marriage which she accepts to deep tears from Brock per usual. Our heroes say goodbye and head off the Ogi Isle to discover the mysteries of Lugia. IS THAT SPARKY’S MUSIC!!! RICHIE!!!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Jenaro, skilled and sweet with a very 80s prom fit to ask for a hand in marriage, bold.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, making a man work that hard for a proposal, shame on them.
One thing I learned: One tiny island can regulate a silver-based economy. I need a Johto economics lesson.
Who is that Pokémon?: Charmander, All I hear when I see this Pokemon is Damian going CHARRMENDA.
Best Quote: “You’re gonna jump where?” -Ash after Jenaro says he is going to “take the plunge”… oh kids!
Best Scene: The retelling of Lugia’s appearance, I love that Pokemon.
