Airdate: February 14, 2002
Summary: Tyson, the Team Rocket leader from the last episode, leads the delivery of the Red Gyrados. Lance calls Officer Jenny to tell her the plans for what Team Rocket is trying to do, meanwhile Team Rocket is guarding Pikachu, Togepi and the gang. The Pokemon near the barn are still feeling bad because of the evolution inducement machine. Arbok uses its Poison Sting to make our heroes fear Team Rocket…. And Jessie hits a button to open their restraints.. Nice job. Cyndaquil uses a Smokescreen to escape, and once Lance shows up with Dragonite Team Rocket is stymied. Lance introduces himself to Team Rocket, sending them in a spin cycle with Dragonite’s Twister. Dragonite uses Hyper Beam to destroy the research barn and head to Mahogany Town, Team Rocket calls Tyson to alert him. Team Rocket is trying to send Gyrados to another location via helicopter when Gyrados escapes and goes on a rampage as it escapes. Ash tries to talk to Gyrados who sends a strong Hydro Pump their way, eventually targeting the whole of Mahogany Town. Tyson catches up to Lance and challenges him to a battle with his multiple Fearow, Dragonite handles their Fury Attack easily with a strong Wing Attack. Fearow uses Agility but Dragonite uses Thunder Wave and Hyper Beam to counter. Team Rocker catches up to Gyrados, using electric shock nets to weaken it. Bayleef uses Razor Leaf to free Gyrados, who uses Hyper Beam to blast Team Rocket. Gyrados is hurt, but Jessie and James use their own net to capture Gyrados, but Ash runs and catches up to the net, holding on as Meowth tries to get Ash off the net by pulling it back and forth. Gyrados joins the swaying fun, sending Team Rocket flying, and Gyrados escaping. Team Rocket tries to battle Pikachu and catch it as Gyrados escapes, Pikachu uses Agility and Thunderbolt to great effect, meanwhile Tyson is arrested by Officer Jenny. Now finally, our heroes can try and calm Gyrados down, but just as they try and talk to it and say that they can be friends. All of a sudden, Pryce, the Mahogany Town Gym Leader, shows up with his Dewgong and uses Ice Beam to slow down Gyrados. Pryce then walks up and tells Ash that Pokemon and people cannot be friends. Gyrados turns around and battles with Dragonite, using Hyper Beam to finally make Gyrados faint so it can settle down and Lance can catch it. Our heroes say goodbye to Lance and Officer Jenny, they are off to the Mahogany Town Gym!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Dragonite, that is one powerful Pokemon, whoa!
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Tyson, his Fearow lost big time.
One thing I learned: Sometimes you have to exhaust something to make it settle down.
Who is that Pokémon?: Dunsparce… why? Just… why? .5/10.
Best Quote: “Will we still go down in history, we are going up in this story,” – Team Rocket as they fly away.. Why is every quote Team Rocket, give our heroes some good lines.
Best Scene: All the Gyrados and Dragonite Hyper Beams, I love that movie in animation. Don’t love it in the game.
