Airdate: June 17th, 1997
Summary: Ash is flexing, riding high on his recent success. But our gang cannot avoid a pitfall. This one isn’t Team Rocket though; the Squirtle Squad is ready to rumble. Pikachu mean mugs Squirtle, and the Squad retreats as Officer Jenny is on the move. Surprisingly, Brock does not hit on Officer Jenny. Jenny informs us this Squad is up to no good, and that they just need some good influences. James is tired of Pizza, and Jessie is hungry for that Pikachu… and maybe a quick bite. Instead, the Squad cops the grub and flaunts it. Meowth temporarily joins the Squad with the mission of getting Pikachu. The gang gets captured, Pikachu is sick, and Ash convinces the Squad to let him get some medicine. Ash makes a Dora the Explorer-esque trek to the store and gets his Super Potion, but not before Team Rocket holds up the store and Ash gets some serious firepower aimed at him. Officer Jenny and Charmander take Ash back to the Squad, just in time to protect the Squad from Team Rocket’s bombs. Ash saves the leader of the Squad, and Squirtle will go to the moon for Ash. They save Pikachu, fight fires, and Ash gets his third new friend in as many episodes.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Squirtle, what a boss.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Jessie and James, just listen to Meowth already, stop making plans
One thing I learned: Meowth can speak human and Pokémon.
