Summary: Our heroes are on their way to New Bark Town with their badges when they call Prof. Elm, who asks them to stop by a marine laboratory where they have a Pokemon Egg he needs. They walk to the laboratory, and meet a woman who rushes past them to go on her ecolocator. With the help of her Lanturn, they see a school of Lapras traveling to the laboratory. Ash meets his old Orange Island Lapras who greets Ash, having grown up to be adult size Ash barely recognizes it. Our heroes reveal that they met it in the islands, and the woman introduces herself as Naomi, and that she knows about the egg. Naomi says she is a Pokemon marine biologist who tracks Lapras by their voice, meanwhile Team Rocket schemes up trying to capture the Lapras. The Pokemon Egg was discovered on Mt. Silver, where it escaped from poachers. Lapras wants to play with Ash, taking on a big wave with an awesome Surf attack. All of a sudden, the Lapras are caught in a classic Team Rocket net, but Lapras’ battle acumen and voice recognition helps navigate some tough Weezing smokescreens, even after Team Rocket escapes. The Lapras fight back and gnaw the net, so Team Rocket tries to resurface but hits some Whirlpools just as they are about to go up. The Lapras attempt to Surf through the Whirlpool to find two Lapras who got caught along with Team Rockets net. The Lapras use their song to locate it, and then fight Team Rocket as they come to shore. Arbok and Weezing are out again but Crobat uses Sonicboom to send the poison types flying, and Pikachu uses Thunder to finish the job. Lapras and their bodies sail into the sunset as the Lapras leader hands over its leadership duties to Ash’s Lapras. Meanwhile, our heroes take the egg to Prof. Elm. Goodbye Lapras!!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Lapras, it was so cool to see Lapras and Ash together again.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, separating a Lapras from its family is just cruel.
One thing I learned: Ash’s Lapras is a boss who can take care
Who is that Pokémon?: Qwilfish, I like this Pokemon although I never think to or want to use it in playthroughs.
Best Quote: “Thanks to them we will be living in the Lapras of luxury” – Meowth using the title of the episode is *chef’s kiss*.
Best Scene: Ash and Lapras sitting at night talking about their journeys and experiences.
