Summary: Ash vs. Harrison, 1 v 1 for a Final Four appearance. Charizard uses a Flamethrower, but Blaziken jumps up very high for a Quick Attack. Blaziken uses Flamethrower, Charizard uses one, this is a fire off. Both Pokemon’s attacks keep dodging each other, but Blaziken gets a Fire Punch in, Charizard gets a Flamethrower in, pride is on the line. Charizard goes in for a final Seismic Toss blow, however Blaziken is able to withstand it and use its Flamethrower against the ground to continue the match. Blaziken uses a tough Quick Attack, and dodges a Seismic Toss. Blaziken uses a Blaze Kick attack to almost make Charizard faint, Charizard gets up and uses a Dragon Rage against Flamethrower, making an explosion that drops both Pokemon. Each Pokemon stands in turn, but Charizard tries a Flamethrower… only to collapse to the ground and faint. The match is over and Blaziken wins, on to the Final Four for him. Ash says goodbye to Squirtle, and seems in high spirits as Delia and Oak leave to go back to Pallet Town to relieve Tracy and Mr. Mime of their duties. Team Rocket is in their warehouse lamenting the lack of badges they have to sell, no orders of badges have arrived. Harrison’s Houndoom is defeated by another trainer’s Rhyhorn, Harrison wasn’t able to use his Blaziken because of the tough battle with Charizard, what a good trainer. Harrison runs into our heroes at Lake Silver, he tells them about Prof. Birch in the Hoenn region, and that he should go there and discover new Pokemon. Suddenly, three Pokemon appear, so Ash gets Noctowl to use Foresight and reveals they are Misdreavous. The Misdreavous go and lead our heroes to another Misdreavous who is stuck under a tree. Everyone pitches in, including Gary, and lifts the tree up, freeing the Misdreavous. Gary catches the Misdreavous, making a sort of connection with it. Gary starts to talk about all of his knowledge of Pokemon.. Almost like Professor Oak.. hmmmmm. Gary then reveals he will be that exact thing, a Pokemon Researcher. We move onto the final battle of the Silver Conference, a dude named John Dixon and his Rapidash beat Rhydon, winning the trophy. Team Rocket is still selling Silver Conference pins but now everyone has left… bad timing.. until every bill collector in the entire region comes to collect, but Team Rocket flies away in their building rollout robot. Our heroes are all going their separate ways, but Team Rockets robo-building rolls in. Harrison sends Blaziken out to set them ablaze before Pikachu sends them a Thunderbolt, they go flying. Gary and Ash go their separate ways.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Blaziken, this Pokemon is probably the strongest Ash has ever faced in the anime. It will motivate him.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: None.. this was a well fought episode with great people. Everyone did great.
One thing I learned: Trainers care about their Pokemon even over individual success to watch out for their health.
Who is that Pokémon?: Tyranitar, amazing in competitive Pokemon and as a storyline in the Celebi Movie Pokemon 4ever.
Best Quote: “Who’s Professor Birch?” – Ash, ahhh shit, here we go again! On to Hoenn we go.
Best Scene: Ash’s surprise at Gary becoming a Pokemon researcher.
