Summary: Our heroes are in Ecruteak Pokemon Center when the bells ring in Tin Tower, we pan over to Morty who is accompanied by his friend Eusine who is obsessed with Suicune. Nurse Joy explains that Ho-Oh is on his way, Morty and Eusine go and check the 9th floor Crystal Bells, which are missing after Team Rocket stole them. James explains that they stole the bells to attract Ho-Oh to catch and bring to the boss, but none of them come, and Jessie in her frustration throws the bells, which breaks. Suddenly a large gust of wind blows. Our heroes run up to Tin Tower, meeting Morty and Eusine. Eusine is skeptical of Ash, but Morty explains that Ash saw Ho-Oh on his first day of his Pokemon journey, which Eusine doubts. Eusine talks about the legend of Ho-Oh, where humans destroyed a tower in Ecruteak, creating Raikou, Entei, and Suicune to watch over people waiting for the days their hearts can be pure again. Then, Ash says he met Suicune when he met Celebi, which Eusine doubts and challenges Ash as the foremost Suicune expert. Eusine sends out Alakazam to battle Pikachu, but before they start their battle, the Bell Tower starts to get taken over by Bug Pokemon and Grass Pokemon who are very hostile towards our heroes, which Morty explains is because the Crystal Bells, which preserved harmony, were disturbed. Our heroes use their Pokemon to confuse the Pokemon so they can find the Crystal Bells in the webbing the Pokemon created to stop Team Rocket from taking the bells. Cyndaquil uses Flamethrower to break through the web and locate the bells, which Team Rocket explains they broke. Everyone is attacked by the Pokemon in the forest, Alakazam uses Reflect but has no effect on a wild Tangela’s Vine Whip. Before Tangela attacks Ash, Suicune appears out of nowhere and calms all of the Pokemon, Eusine sees what he has been searching for his whole life, and Suicune blasts Team Rocket off. Instead of thanking Suicune, Eusine attempts to catch it, which Suicune rejects. A Rainbow appears, the webs disappear from the city, and everything returns back to normal.. A weird ending to an episode that seemed to need to be two episodes long for all of the lure. Eusine is back on the hunt for Suicune, and our heroes are off to Mahogany Town.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ecruteak City Pokemon, they show up right when their habitat is threatened.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, they messed with the wrong historical artifact.
One thing I learned: Eusine needs a new hobby, this Suicune obsession is unhealthy.
Who is that Pokémon?: Caterpie, an OG OG… I like it and love Butterfree, but I like Kakuna better than Metapod no doubt.
Best Quote: “Would you believe we was working on web design?” – Meowth just hanging around.
Best Scene: The explanation of the legend with all the legendary dogs, love those trio wayyyyy better than the Kanto birds.
