Summary: Our heroes are finally to the preserve, where they reminisce on how Larvitar has finally trusted them, an ominous periscope comes out of the water. Our heroes see a Tyranitar as they go to the preserve, recognizing it as Larvitar’s mother from the scar on its chest. Tyranitar gives them a sour welcome with a Hyper Beam, thinking they stole the egg. Tyranitar goes mama bear mode, everyone runs away including Larvitar. As Tyranitar is running, the poacher gang led by the Boss and two underlings (one named Blurt) aim at the Tyranitar. Larvitar is cornered by Tyranitar but its Screech attack lets Tyranitar know it is her baby. Right after this touching moment, Tyranitar is caught by the poachers who our heroes recognize from Larvitar’s dream. The Poachers Brothers (Braggo, Chico, and Blurt) introduce themselves, Team Rocket is jealous and has an identity crisis in their balloon. Jessie thinks to join the Poacher Brothers and then rob them later. Right when Ranger Mason comes the poachers leave, but Brock sends Crobat out to track them. Brock falls in love with Mason, but her main concern is trying to find Larvitar. Mason, like Braggo, uses a quotation to mention how he is a plague upon the earth.. Ash blirts out “whoever smelt it dealt it…” what is this episode! Team Rocket asks to join the Poacher Brothers, they agree but Team Rocket steals their machine, to the poachers’ indifference as it will alert Mason to them while the Poachers can escape to sell Tyranitar. Our heroes find Team Rocket who get caught in the trap themselves while the Poacher Brothers take back their machine and leave in Team Rocket’s blimp. They take Croconaw, Pikachu, and catch our heroes in a trap, Larvitar is all alone to get her mother back. It uses Screech to ward off the poachers and motivate Tyranitar, who shakes the blimp, making it hard for the poachers to go fast. Hyper Beam’s from Tyranitar almost break through, but Tyranitar helps break the remote control and falls to the ground. The Poacher Brothers use their machine to attack Tyranitar again, but the mother/son combo free Croconaw and Pikachu, allowing them to send the Poacher brothers flying.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Larvitar, goodbye you cute subplot! Glad you find your mom.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Brock, the poachers have Tyranitar, stop flirting bro!
