Summary: Our crew is so close to Rustboro, but May wants to catch a Wurmple, even if she is scared at first. Everyone is having lunch but May won’t stop trying to get her Wurmple, Max is pessimistic. Jessie wants her own, so she starts kicking trees but finds one with a Weedle, Kakuna, and a bunch of Beedrill. Team Rocket is running for their lives when they all fall off a little ledge. They start the motto when May spots a Wurmple, Team Rocket follows. May sends Torchic, Jessie sends Seviper as they compete for the Wurmple.Cacnea and Seviper turn on May, but a boy named Franklin with a Heracross jumps out to defend May. Franklin agrees to help May catch a Wurmple as Pikachu tries to perfect Iron Tail. Another guy that looks identical named Franklin spots their camp and challenges Ash to a double battle, can he time travel?! He sends Ariados and Yanma while Ash sends Treecko and Pikachu. Ariados uses String Shot, Yanma Sonic Boom. Pikachu is caught by a web, but Treecko helps it escape. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to hurt Yanma, but Ariados uses Night Shade on Pikachu. Treecko uses Quick Attack and avoids two attacks while Pikachu uses Iron Tail on Yanma but it fails vs. Ariados who uses a String Shot. Treecko’s pound hits Ariados and makes both of them faint. The other Franklin gets a Pecha Berry from May; he wants to join May on their journey as they spot a Wurmple. Torchic uses a Tackle and a Pokeball to catch Wurmple, but it pops out. Wurmple hits Torchic with a tough Tackle, May uses Ember to hit Wurmple directly and throws another ball, this time successfully. Welcome to the crew Wurmple! Just as May is celebrating, Team Rocket steals it with a grabber but Heracross’ Horn Attack does the trick. However, Team Rocket doesn’t quit, sends the Cacnea and Seviper at May, and avoid Torchic’s Ember. Heracross stops Franklin’s attack and allows Torchic to use Ember before it uses its own Megahorn to send them flying. May and Franklin meet the boy crew and Franklin… Everyone is confused. The two Franklin’s are twin brothers, Forest and Forrester Franklin. Forest will go on a Pokemon journey while Forrester will watch the forest. Brock has his food out, which Wurmple promptly eats. Team Rocket ends up on a limb, and somehow Jessie catches a Wurmple chilling there, so lucky! Off to Rustboro.. finally?!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Forrest and Forrester, both rangers are nice and helpful.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Nobody, I think this episode was good for all characters, a rare no Worst Trainer/Pokemon, Team Rocket is just trying to get their Wurmple.
One thing I learned: Team Rocket loves to live on the edge… or the limb.
Who is that Pokémon?: Lugia, again.. I need some Hoenn Pokemon but this is a top-5 box art legendary for me, maybe even top-3 but I would have to really think about it.
Best Quote: “Team Rocket lies, cheats, and steals at the speed of light” – Team Rocket, I like this one more than some others.
Best Scene: Jessie catching Wurmple on the edge of a limb like it is nothing, what a flex!
