Summary: Ash is feeling great about his new badge, as Max tells him the next gym is on Dewford. Brock and May have different ideas. Max breaks the PokeNav and runs out to try and get it fixed when he runs into an older man with a weird invention that opens cans. He says to go to the Devon Corporation but is chased by an official looking guy named Kennedy, they wonder where Max is while May continues to shop. Max walks into the Devon Corp and sneaks behind a pillar, he is found by Mr. Stone who reveals he is the President as he walks around the building trying to find Max a fix for his PokeNav. Max is afraid of what May will see about breaking the PokeNav. He shows Max the product testing room where everything is still in development, he shows him an invention that can develop a Pokemon producing machine for fossil Pokemon. Max is jazzed about this discovery and says he wants to be a gym leader, while Kennedy is looking for him to send back to the office. Mr. Stone asks Kennedy to grab Max’s friends and bring them to the office. Max and Mr. Stone are in the office when he thinks an industrial spy is in their midst, while Team Rocket tries to sneak in without an ID card. Ash, Brock, and May follow Kennedy who tells our crew about Steven Stone, a powerful trainer. Mr. Stone follows the intruder who reveals himself by running away, he is told by Kennedy that the creation capsules are gone. Team Rocket still runs into problems trying to enter the building, but Jenny is distracted by an intruder before Team Rocket runs away. The actual thief runs fast while Max and Mr. Stone ran their best 40-time to corner the thief with Ash’s help. The thief uses a Crawdaunt to escape, who uses a Crabhammer and Bubblebeam. The thief rockets away, but not before Team Rocket jumps on him and grabs the capsules. Meowth throws them, Max catches them, and Pikachu sends a Thunderbolt to blast Team Rocket off. Jenny says because of the Crawdaunt the thief was Team Aqua. May asks for the PokeNav which Stone hands Max to share with his sister.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Max, his inquisitiveness and planning help out the Devon Crop.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: The Team Aqua spy… not sly at all.
One thing I learned: Mr. Stone has a powerful son.. I wonder who he is..
Who is that Pokémon?: Slugma… next!
Best Quote: “Steven has thought only about Pokemon sense he was a little boy” – Kennedy, the fact that Mr. Stone sees a bit of Steven in Max is wild.
Best Scene: May fainting from shopping and then resurrecting at the thought of more shopping.
