Summary: Our heroes are completely lost as Ash turns back into a person… I don’t understand the physics of this but ok. Our heroes hand Pikachu right to Team Rocket in a classic ruse, and classically they use electrical feedback to use Pikachu’s Thunderbolt to fuel their machine. I feel like watching Team Rocket always steal Pikachu is a Sisyphean task on my end, why do I do this? BECAUSE I LOVE IT! Back to the action, Pikachu’s Thunderbolt is too hot for Team Rocket, they blast off per usual. OOP, our annual “Pikachu is sick/hurt/overstimulated and someone comes to help it recover” episode is in full swing. The helper, named Krystal, in this case promises to help our heroes as long as where they go to heal its secrets are not revealed. Electric Pokemon follow Krystal to a lake with a legendary crystal that helps heal Pokemon who bathe in it. How original Pokemon to name her Krystal, yikes. Anyways, Team Rocket hears and starts to fantasize about what they could do with the crystal, delusional as always. They steal the crystal, all the electric Pokemon “re-volt” to take it back.. Thank you thank you I will be here all week. Team Rocket uses the electrical reabsorption against the Pokemon, but…. wait… IS THAT ZAPDOS’ MUSIC?!?!?! Zapdos fights back and is too powerful for Team Rocket. It blasts them off but is paralyzed and faints. Team Rocket will not give up and come back for the crystal again, this time giving our heroes an ingenious exploding Wobbuffet for their third escape, good work. Bayleef and Pikachu work together to keep the crystal and blast Team Rocket off. Zapdos is still hurt and the crystal doesn’t work, but with the recharging by the assembled electric mons, Zapdos is put into the water and restored with the crystal’s energy. Let’s go!!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Meowth, I love the Sound of Music reference.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, he asked “what’s that?” when he sees a Zapdos.. Bruh there was a whole feature-length film where you fought one, and a Season 1 episode with one. Dumbass.
One thing I learned: I know this, but some waters have healing powers, it is always good to remember that a good schvitz is needed every once in a while.
Who is that Pokémon?: Kingdra, an absolute banger of a Pokemon with an intimidating cry. HRUUUUUUUUU.
Best Quote: “I liked it a whole lot better when Ash was a Pikachu” – Misty, a classic zinger.
Best Scene: Zapdos popping out of the cloud, I love when you have a random legendary Pokemon appearance.
