Summary: Our heroes are still on to Blackthorn but Ash’s stomach directs him to a town… IS THAT JIGGLYPUFF’S MUSIC?!?! Everytime time that pink puff comes in you know some hijinks are about to ensue. As they get into town a purple-haired girl is dancing with some Igglybuff and… Brock has fallen in love. He is much more appropriate compared to Dragonball’s Master Roshi, see those reviews for more on the blog if you wish. ANYWAYS… Brittany is the girl, a star of a hit TV show aptly named Brittany where the Igglybuff’s star as dancers. Their hit show is having a live concert, and these buffs have flapper feathers in their hair, dancing the jig to Brittany’s… interesting song. Team Rocket dreams of stealing the Igglybuff, meanwhile Jigglypuff comes to take the stage and sing its song, but Ash steals its mic and stashes it in his bag while Brock offers it food. Jigglypuff steals Igglybuff’s headbands and Doubleslaps them, but when confronted plays it off as the wind. Two’s Always Better Than One is kind of a bop, it has a beat and a good message with a whole concert animation. Jigglypuff dreams of going up on stage like Brittany, remembers where the mic is stashed, and goes to retrieve it. Jigglypuff starts to sing but Team Rocket interjects on stage, Jessie dressed as a lady and James dressed as a little sailor boy. I’M THE HANDSOME ONE, I’M THE GORGEOUS ONE, another bop! This is a sing along episode 100 percent. Team Rocket comes to capture the buff’s but Ash uses Phanpy who avoids Victrebell’s Razor Leaf to use a Take Down. Wobbuffet uses Counter on Jigglypuff, also on Poliwhirl’s Bubblebeam (which shouldn’t work but whatever), giving them enough time to steal the dancing buffs. Brock is asked to cover the stage while our heroes look for the Igglybuff, Brock as his maracas, la la la… this is my paradise so live on, o le yeah oh! Brock’s song gets old, Ash sends Noctowl out to find Igglybuff, but all they find is Jigglypuff tied up. They eventually find the Igglybuff, Totodile uses a great scratch attack and our dancers are free. Corsola tackles Meowth in the scrum, the Igglybuff use Charm on Arbok and Victrebell, using a Sweet Kiss finish to leave them confused. Jigglypuff, Pikachu, and Totodile finish them off, see you! Brock literally sings his heart out until Brittany gets back to finish the concert, ending with a Jigglypuff dream song.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Ash, quick thinking with the Jigglypuff mic steal, we have already seen where this show goes when everyone is asleep.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Jigglypuff, what a salty little pink puff, when will this Pokemon go off into the sunset?
One thing I learned: Brittany has some pipes, I always like when something happens in Pokemon that could happen in real life, like a pop star’s concert.
Who is that Pokémon?: Yanma, not a huge fan but I do like Yanmega quite a bit.
Best Quote: “Jessie’s gone over the edge of reality again” – James, always keeping Jessie’s ego in check.
Best Scene: Team Rocket coming in with their signature song, they just keep rolling along until they become the stars of this cartoon.
