Summary: Our heroes walk up to another lake named Lake Slowpoke or Lake Enlightenment. Team Rocket randomly pops out of a hole sans disguise, their dig a hole and wait plan has changed, they make surprise entrances now. A Slowpoke with a yellow flag stops their inevitable fight, but a woman in a nuns outfit named Madeline intervenes. Madeline starts to psychoanalyze Ash in an attempt to enlighten him, who is he really? Madeline has been studying enlightenment for 10 years, TRUST THE PROCESS! Our heroes go to the temple, hear about the monk who found enlightenment, see a gold Slowpoke statue, and hear about how Gary Oak engaged in “challenge training”. Team Rocket agrees to engage in this training to get into a position to steal the gold Slowpoke, tears and all. Our heroes try meditation, Ash just dreams of winning the Johto league, Misty dreams of catching water Pokemon, annnd Brock dreams of girls. Madeline hires everyone out to scrub and wax the whole temple, Ash takes on the challenge and gets everyone to try hard, maybe a bit too hard. Team Rocket is ready to steal the Slowpoke so they feign a hurt back, Misty calls Jessie old and she almost crashes out. Our heroes go fishing with Meowth after being motivated by Slowpoke’s expert fishing, Misty uses Meowth as a lure. Meowth talks to the fish and they tell him that because Slowpoke isn’t trying hard, he has great success. Madeline helps our heroes know that enlightenment is letting the world come to you, not trying too hard. Jessie and James steal the Slowpoke statue, but Slowpoke evolves into Slowbro and uses Confusion to stop them. Goodnight Team Rocket.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Madeline, I think our heroes needed a bit of introspection as they head towards the end of their Gen 2 journey together. Trust the process.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, respect the temples bruh.
One thing I learned: You must trust the process and your Pokemon.
Who is that Pokémon?: Noctowl, I have liked Noctowl more and more over the years. I definitely used to sleep on it.
