Pokemon Company

Airdate: June 20, 2002

Summary: It isn’t Lance! IT’S CHARIZARD…. LET’S GO! Liza and Charla are here, Liza explains how she brings Charizard to Blackthorn all the time and that Clair knows Charizard. They all agree to help get the Dragon Fang back, while Dragonite takes Team Rocket to the Dragon Shrine while grabbing them some apples. Team Rocket opens up the Dragon Shrine with the prayer flame which burns brightly, but maybe too brightly, because James drops it on a pristine flower filled field, causing Dragonite to turn on them in a Hyper Beam filled rampage. Dragonite starts burning some of the fields with his rampage, so Dragonair is sent out to put out the fire in the already burnt sections. Onix, and Geodude all try to help the fire with Rock Throws, Staryu and Politoed with Water Gun, but Dragonite’s rampage threatens the valley. Clair tries to reason with Dragonite, but Charizard uses a Flamethrower attack to stop it from hitting her. Dragonite’s Outrage attack is causing its confusion, so our heroes know it is going to be a tough fight. Politoed tries to save the shrine with a Water Gun, Clair moves to save the Pokemon while Charizard battles Dragonite who is hit by a powerful Flamethrower, which Dragonite washes off before sending a Hyper Beam. Dragonair uses a Safeguard to stop the beam, and Charizard/Dragonair uses a Flamethrower/Hyper Beam attack to no avail. A continuous thunder-type attack with Dragonair and Pikachu helps Dragonite out of its confusion with a well-timed Fire Spin from Charizard. Team Rocker tries to grab the Dragon Fang at the end, but gets blasted off. The flame is put back by Geodude, the old man that follows Clair says a bad joke, and Ash gets pumped to face Clair tomorrow. Here we go!

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Dragonite, such a powerful and majestic Pokemon.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, legitimately screw those guys this episode.

One thing I learned: Dragonite are tough Pokemon that may require entire squadrons to stop.

Who is that Pokémon?: Chinchou, very underrated, with LAnturn at times is so underrated it is overrated, but I think it is properly awesome.

Best Quote: “[Dragonite Cries]” – Anytime a Pokemon weeps for an ecological disaster, it gets me.

Best Scene: The Thunderbolt/Fire Spin bowl of fire, pretty cool!
