Summary: Our heroes and Clair are eating some post-match food, she shares that the conference is in Silver Town in three months. Ash will need to go to New Bark Town to register. Team Rocket plots to steal the badge while Wynaut takes their donuts, which is blamed on Wobbuffet. Ash is approached by Team Rocket posing as reporters to take his jacket and badges. Ash poses in his new king robes, he asks if they are prepared to ask him questions and that they went to all this trouble, queuing Team Rocket to use the motto. Wobbuffet has the badges, but drops them to go get some apples hanging from a tree to impress Team Rocket, but Wynaut takes the box of badges and apples, so when Team Rocket asks him he does not have them. Wobbuffet tells Team Rocket that a Wynaut took the badges, but Wobbuffet’s description of the badge looks like a Wooper, uh oh. Ash and Clair are looking for the badges, queue the montage of all of Ash’s gym battles as he laments the loss of his badges. Bayleef and Noctowl run into Wynaut having trouble opening the box, they help Wynaut open the box and see that Ash’s badges are there. Bayleef stays and Noctowl goes to alert our heroes. Wooper, being chased by Team Rocket, comes into Bayleef’s area. Bayleef moves to protect the badges with ferocity versus Victreebel and Arbok. They both attack Bayleef when it is down by Wynaut runs and jumps to use a Counter attack. Ash catches up to the action while Team Rocket flies away, so Bayleef Vine Whips Ash up to their balloon. Ash misses the balloon but Dragonair catches him and goes up to the blimp. Noctowl takes Pikachu to the blimp and they blast Team Rocket off before catching all the badges in midair, but one his Rising Badge is missing, but guess who has it, Wynaut! What a hero. Bye Clair and bye Blackthorn City.
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Wobbuffett, he is just trying to be a good dude… tough episode for this blue boy. Honorable Mention to Wynaut, another great blue boy.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, chasing the wrong blue boy for far too long.
One thing I learned: Meowth thinks you can make a Bayleef salad, clever.
Who is that Pokémon?: Steelix, OG big boy and such a large upgrade over Onix.
Best Quote: “Your Stinking Badges” – Meowth goes full New York accent with this one, GET OUTTA HERE!
Best Scene: Ash remembering all of his gym battles, a bit obligatory and oft-used approach but it was a good three-season recap.
