Pokemon Company

Airdate: January 23, 2003

Summary: The crew heads to Rinshin Town, the big city. Ash and May will get something to eat and meet Brock and May at the Pokemon Center after they shop for clothes. . Two workers talk about an abandoned building that five workers have quiet from, while Team Rocket gives a chainsaw to a tree nearby, Jessie worries about her masculinity getting so buff from this manual labor. Max goes looking for some Pokemon, he spots a Shroomish. Meanwhile, Brock and May hear from random folks about the Great Lodge where workers are trying to cut down trees and keep passing out. Shroomish doesn’t look happy, Max gives it Pokemon food but it gets scared and uses Stun Spore, eventually Pikachu convinces it to eat the food. Max gives Shroomish a little towel to tie on its head. Brock and May go inside the mansion, and when Max, Ash, and Shroomish walk by, Shroomish jumps out of their hands and jumps in. Team Rocket sees them and plans to nab Pikachu. Our crew goes by the project manager who tells them that his grandfather used to own the house when it was all alone on the lot with tons of Shroomish around, but now the Shroomish left except for perhaps the one Max found. Shroomish is inside one of the rooms, crying and cold, along with a bunch of others. Team Rocket comes in to try and get Pikachu, but the Shroomish yell out for a whole herd to appear before giving Team Rocket a collective Stun Spore. Max thinks the Shroomish are in pain, and that they want to live here with the grandson of their former owner. The grandson says it is too late to stop the construction, and Team Rocket uses a new machine for attempt number two at a Stun Spore free capture. Team Rocket gets the Shroomish to come out and starts collecting them. The Shroomish fight back with a Leech Seed and Stun Spore, before Torchic comes out and uses Ember to cut the Shroomish free and Pikachu sends them flying. Max asks the grandson to keep the house, but he proposes that they will make it a forest for them to live in, off to Rustboro!

Best Trainer/Pokémon: Max, he has a kind heart towards Pokemon, even scared ones.

Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Team Rocket, they were their normal bad self but there was not a great answer today.

One thing I learned: You need to respect a Pokemon’s natural habitat.

Who is that Pokémon?: Snubbull, I love this Pokemon and have grown more to like it over time.

Best Quote: “I think there’s a fungus, and they’re among us!” – James, this is the name of my Mt.Hood to Coast team, I love it!

Best Scene: The grandson deciding to make a forest for the Shroomish to live in.
