Summary: Our heroes are sailing to Dewford on the SS Wingull with Mr. Briney as they take their Pokemon out to enjoy the sea air. Team Rocket is sailing in their Magikarp submarine as they are chanting, Lotad gives Pikachu and Torchic a little bath while Max and May decide to swim as all the Pokemon are relaxing on the boat even though Ash wants to head right to Dewford. They head to a crescent-shaped island but there is something in the water following our heroes. May shows off her new bathing suit and jumps in the water with Max, as they splash each other something is looking at them in the water… It’s a bunch of Sharpedo! Peeko jumps in and Max and May grab their legs as Sharpedo jump and try to grab them, its Rough Skin hurts Max who likes it after knowing its a special ability even though it hurts. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to help Max and May back on the boat. Sharpedo takes a bite out of May’s suit, she tells off the Sharpedo, Ash’s curiosity is piqued by the Sharpedo, who start attacking the boat. Our crew stays in the cove overnight as they eat Brock’s cooking. Brock mentions that the Sharpedo formed a school to trap our crew, they strategize to see how they can leave the island. Brock says that one of them was larger than the others, if they beat that Sharpedo it is game over. Meanwhile, Team Rocket plants their submarine outside the island as the Sharpedo attack them. Jessie sends Seviper out to use Poison Tail, it gets rocked after the Sharpedo start headbutting the boat, Team Rocket blasts off. Briney and the crew start their plan to distract the Sharpedo, but the bigger one stays behind and gets caught in the trap, Brock sends Lotad out to battle it. Lotad uses Water Gun against Sharpedo to great effect, but after one hit Sharpedo faints. The Sharpedo was poisoned by Seviper and so it is pretty weak, Brock stays with Sharpedo, getting hurt by Rough Skin as he rubs it back to health through the night. Sharpedo embraces Brock, but Team Rocket shows up a third time with a net to catch Pikachu and Sharpedo. Brock says that Sharpedo is sick, Jessie reveals that it poisoned Sharpedo, Lotad comes out of the water to use Razor Leaf, Sharpedo leads Pikachu to safety as the school sends Team Rocket blasting off. Brock and Lotad say goodbye to the Sharpedo, their Rough Skin doesn’t hurt because they are friends with our crew, we arrive in Dewford as Mr. Briney goes to Slateport, bye Peeko!
Best Trainer/Pokémon: Mr. Briney, any episode with this man I am in, fun vacation spot as well.
Worst Trainer/Pokémon: Sharpedo, I know it is in their nature but they were way too aggressive to the crew for no reason.
One thing I learned: Brock is an ever-evolving breeder who cares for even the most aggressive Pokemon.
